Before joining YDS in 2010 to teach Hebrew, Dr. Reymond taught Aramaic and related languages and topics at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. A graduate of Bennington College and the University of Chicago, he is author of five books, as well as co-author of two recently published or soon-to-be published works, the first (written with Frédérique Michèle Rey) is the Critical Edition of the Hebrew Manuscripts of Ben Sira with Translations and Philological Notes, Supplements to the Journal for the Study of Judaism 217 (Leiden: Brill) and the second (written with Samuel L. Adams) is The Wisdom of Ben Sira: A New Translation with Introduction and Commentary, vol. 1, Anchor Yale Bible (New Haven: Yale University Press). Reymond’s research focuses on the language and literary idiom of biblical and postbiblical Hebrew literature, especially that associated with Ben Sira and that found among the Dead Sea Scrolls. He is also a published poet, his poems having appeared in journals like New Orleans Review, Denver Quarterly, and New South, as well as in two short volumes: Nimrodia and Sub-Sub Librarian, Extracts on a (both Philadelphia: New Texture, 2018).
