Edieal Pinker is the BearingPoint Professor of Operations Research at the Yale School of Management.  He has a PhD and MS in Operations Research from MIT and BA in Mathematics from Columbia University.  Besides his expertise in management and extensive study of healthcare operations, workforce flexibility, and service systems, he has interest in applying quantitative methods to a number of subjects of relevance to contemporary Jewish life.   He has done demographic projections for the US Jewish community, studied the funding of Jewish non-profit institutions, and analyzed the New York Times coverage of the Israel-Hamas conflict.  By serving on the Executive committee of the Jewish Studies Program, Professor Pinker hopes to be a bridge between Jewish Studies and the School of Management that facilitates bringing new perspectives into investigation of topics relevant to Jewish society. He is open to assisting in mentoring graduate students with overlapping interests.
