Ally Huffmire (Citizen Potawatomi Nation) is a PhD student in Religious Studies. She studies the Hebrew Bible and religion in the ancient Mediterranean. Drawing on material studies and theories of embodiment, she explores how the Bible depicts bodies and body objects to produce caricatures of health, power, sexuality, and identity. Her research interests include anatomy and medicine; dress and socialization; nature and cosmology; and Israel and its history.

Ally holds a Bachelor of Arts in Ancient Near Eastern Studies with an emphasis in Hebrew Bible from Brigham Young University and a Master of Arts in Religion in Second Temple Judaism from Yale Divinity School. She also has a certificate of Visual and Material Culture from the Yale Institute of Sacred Music.
